Artist Statement
Using sensual lines and bold, vibrant colors, I express my emotional intensity as well as capturing a spiritual connection through my expressive, contemporary style. My paintings absorb and transfer my own energy as well as some universal energy which makes them so valuable. My art is a bridge to the spiritual.
Art has always been my passion and my journey. During my childhood years it was an expression of my curiosity and discovery. As a teenager it was my refuge and outlet. Later through my children I was able to share my love of art by encouraging their own artistic talents.
A friend once told me, "through your pain you will find your passion. In that passion you will know your purpose." I have found that purpose not only as a registered nurse in the art of healing, but primarily through my art where I explore and reveal truth, beauty and the divine.
Artists that have influenced me are Klimt, Escher, Dali, Fauvism and Expressionism. I especially love art that transmits a spiritual presence such as australian aboriginal, native american, hindu art and sculptures, tibetan mandalas, icon painters and islamic calligraphy.
